6pm) Alexander Steele are supporting a Global manufacturing business who are seeking a Machine Operator to operate and monitor production machinery safely and efficiently, ensuring products are manufactured to the required quality standards while achieving production, efficiency, and waste targets.
Key Responsibilities Set up and operate production machinery in line with production plans and specifications.
Carry out pre-start checks, line set-up, and routine cleaning activities.
Prepare and replenish raw materials, packaging, and consumables as required.
Monitor machine performance and resolve minor stoppages to minimise downtime.
Perform quality checks and ensure products meet required standards.
Complete production records and documentation accurately.
Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and health & safety.
Support the achievement of production, OEE, and waste reduction targets.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient production operations.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support training activities where required.
Skills & Experience Experience operating machinery within a manufacturing or production environment.
Good understanding of health & safety, quality, and hygiene standards.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under pressure.
Basic IT and record-keeping skills.
Food manufacturing experience and basic food hygiene knowledge are advantageous.
