Our client, a well-established manufacturing business with a strong commitment to safety and sustainability, is seeking an HSE Coordinator to join their SHE team. This position has become available due to an internal promotion, offering an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into a role with genuine development potential.

The Role:

Working closely with the Health, Safety & Environment Manager, the successful candidate will support the organisation in achieving high standards across health, safety and environmental practices.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular safety walkarounds, engage with staff, identify risks and challenge unsafe behaviour or practices.
  • Promote a strong health, safety and environmental culture among employees, contractors and visitors.
  • Assist with incident reporting, investigations and analysis to support continuous improvement.
  • Help maintain and review policies, procedures and safety plans, including auditing activities.
  • Support the performance and development of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
  • Support contractors on site by ensuring documentation is in place, inductions are completed and safe systems of work are followed.
  • Work with managers and supervisors to set practical HSE objectives and improve safety systems across the business.
  • Assist teams in creating and reviewing risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Participate in sustainability and environmental initiatives, including review meetings and collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Deliver HSE inductions for relevant staff groups.
  • Collaborate with SHE colleagues to provide cover for routine responsibilities when required.
  • Liaise with external bodies where appropriate to the role.
  • Continually seek out learning and development opportunities, including relevant webinars and events.

Candidate requirements:

The ideal candidate will be confident, proactive and able to influence people at all levels. You will bring:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of HSE legislation.
  • NEBOSH Certificate (or willingness to work toward it).
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
  • A collaborative, organised and accountable approach.
  • Membership with IOSH or IEMA.
