On behalf of Tesco IMS, AMS are now looking for a Technical Analyst for a 6 month contract based in the organisations Edinburgh office on a hybrid working model.

Job Purpose
Accountable for optimising methods to develop and interpret information that assists with decision making specific assignments such as designing, documenting, analysing, supporting troubleshooting, etc. to facilitate, support, and improve development, products, and processes. Has excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of different analytical techniques, and the capability to plan own work and meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Compliance: Identify, within the team, instances of non-compliance of organisation’s policies, procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes/codes of conduct, reporting/escalating as appropriate.
- Improvement/Innovation: Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.
- Defining and outlining the right method to deliver upon the requested requirement for a change within a core system to maximise business benefit against cost and time.
- Technical Design Documents: Production of system design documents and technical specifications for several different systems and technologies.
- Applications Software Maintenance: Monitor, identify, and correct straightforward software defects to maintain fully functioning applications software on the customisable elements of the platform.
- Application Software Development: Customise existing applications and contribute to development of new functionality by analysing and identifying areas for modification and improvement.
- Architectural Strategy/Transformational Projects Execution:Look for improvement opportunities for architectural initiatives.
- Business Case: Carry out feasibility and assessment work for proposed and current projects to contribute to the development and continuous review of business cases.
- Business Requirements Identification: Collect business requirements using a variety of methods such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis & to express the requirements on a Bank standard template.
- Technical Understanding: Manage and problem solve Incidents; once investigated and solution identified, gain sign off from stakeholders to proceed into production.
- Lead, quality assure, and support testing as a systems SME, then promote to production following the approved change framework in Service Now

- Action Planning: Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on developing appropriate plans or performing necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements.
- Assessment: Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when analysing information and data from multiple sources, to draw appropriate conclusions and make suitable recommendations.
