On behalf of M&G, AMS are looking for a Solutions Architect in SPM Transformation for an initial 6 Month contract based 2 days per week in London or Edinburgh. The Role & Responsibilities:
- Join Enterprise Architecture to lead the solution architecture for a major Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) transformation programme.
- The role is responsible for designing and implementing scalable portfolio management capabilities that align strategic planning, financial oversight, governance, and delivery execution across the enterprise.
- You will work closely with PMO/EPMO, Finance, Technology, Product, and Risk teams to ensure the platform architecture supports business outcomes, governance requirements, and operational efficiency within a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end solution architecture for the SPM platform rollout, including target-state design, implementation roadmap, and governance alignment.
- Lead the architecture and implementation approach for Strategic Portfolio Management capabilities, including experience of SPM implementations and enterprise portfolio tooling.
- Design portfolio structures, planning hierarchies, timelines, governance workflows, and operating models aligned to enterprise standards.
- Define integrations between SPM platforms and enterprise tooling, including delivery platforms such as financial systems and reporting services.
- Design information architecture, data flows, and reporting capabilities to support portfolio governance, financial control, capacity planning, and strategic outcome tracking.
- Ensure appropriate non-functional architecture covering security, access control, auditability, resilience, and operational support.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across Enterprise Architecture, PMO/EPMO, Finance, Delivery, Product, and Risk to translate business needs into pragmatic architecture solutions.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience implementing or architecting portfolio management solutions such as ServiceNow, Kiplot, or similar platforms (Kiplot experience is advantageous).
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect delivering enterprise SaaS or Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM/PPM) platforms.
- Strong experience delivering or supporting SPM implementations within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong integration and data architecture experience across portfolio, delivery, and financial systems.
- Strong understanding of portfolio governance, demand management, capacity planning, investment controls, and hybrid delivery models.
- Experience working within regulated enterprise environments, ideally financial services.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence at senior levels.
