On behalf of National Crime Agency, we are looking for a Service Transition Manager Inside IR35 for a 12 months contract based hybrid London, Warrington, Birmingham, Bristol. SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active SC clearance. Please note SC+ security clearance will be required before starting, this process can take 3 to 6 months.
NCA are seeking an experienced IT Transition Manager to support the delivery of a high-profile strategic programme within the National Crime Agency. This role will play a key part in managing supplier mobilisation, service transition, governance, and project delivery activities across multiple workstreams. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong project delivery professional with experience of complex IT transitions, supplier onboarding, governance, and stakeholder management within large organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Strategic Gateways Programme Manager in the end-to-end delivery of the programme.
- Manage transition and implementation activities throughout the project life cycle.
- Coordinate supplier mobilisation and onboarding activities.
- Develop, maintain, and report against project plans and workstream schedules.
- Manage RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies).
- Ensure project governance requirements, stage gates, and approvals are achieved.
- Prepare governance documentation for project boards and working groups.
- Support procurement activities and associated governance approvals.
- Assist with the production of Outline Business Cases and procurement artefacts.
- Coordinate implementation planning and service readiness activities.
- Manage project documentation, reviews, approvals, and audit trails.
- Establish and maintain secure project data rooms and repositories.
- Produce regular status reports, dashboards, and executive updates.
- Engage with suppliers, technical teams, commercial teams, and senior stakeholders.
- Ensure quality standards and delivery objectives are achieved throughout the programme.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in IT Transition Management, Service Transition, or Project Delivery.
- Strong project planning and scheduling capabilities.
- Experience managing multiple workstreams and dependencies.
- Demonstrable RAID management experience.
- Excellent governance, reporting, and assurance knowledge.
- Experience supporting procurement and supplier engagement activities.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience producing business cases, governance papers, and executive reports.
- Knowledge of service mobilisation and operational readiness processes.
- Experience managing project artefacts, document controls, and approvals.
Desirable Experience:
- Public sector or government programme experience.
- Experience working within regulated or security-sensitive environments.
- Background in supplier transition, outsourcing, or large-scale technology programmes.
- PRINCE2, MSP, Agile, or equivalent project management qualifications.
