On behalf of the Cabinet Office, we are looking for a Service Designer (Inside IR35) for a 3 Month contract based Remote with occasional travel to either London, York or Glasgow office. The Cabinet Office supports the Prime Minister and ensures the effective running of government. The Cabinet Office is also the corporate headquarters for the government, in partnership with HM Treasury, and takes the lead in certain critical policy areas.

As a Service Designer, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Work effectively in a multidisciplinary, agile environment, adapting quickly to changes in requirements, priorities or user needs.
  • Use research and analytics to understand policy areas and users needs, identify service failures and test different designs.
  • Lead design research when needed, working alongside the Data Analyst responsible for data and quantitative research.
  • Design collaboratively and in the open, engaging your whole team with the design process and adapting it if necessary.
  • Champion accessibility and inclusion, consider the impact of change: new policies and technologies and ensure that designs meet legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with designers in other teams and departments, reviewing each other's work and developing shared patterns.

Essential:

  • Google suite experience.
  • Experience working with whiteboarding tools.
