On behalf of UKAEA (UK Atomic Energy Authority), we are looking for an OT Cyber Security Analyst for a 6-month contract based in Hybrid Oxford. UKAEA runs the UK's national fusion energy research programme, sponsored by the Government's Department for Energy Security & Net Zero. They are on a mission to deliver safe, sustainable, low-carbon energy from fusion, achieving maximum scientific and economic benefit along the way.
As an OT Cyber Security Analyst, your main responsibilities will be:
- Strong, well-structured OT cyber security job description with clear technical focus.
- Emphasises key security areas: network segmentation, secure remote access, OT monitoring, SIEM/SOC integration, and incident response.
- Highlights hands-on engineering responsibilities, including deployment and maintenance of OT security controls.
- Covers integration of OT systems into monitoring platforms and development of OT-specific threat detection rules.
- Demonstrates practical scope through asset discovery, vulnerability identification, and security control validation.
- Aligns with recognised frameworks and standards (IEC 62443, NIST CSF, CAF, ISO 27001), enhancing credibility and clarity.
- Reinforces collaboration with engineering teams and managed service providers in real OT environments.
- Could be improved by adding specific tools, technologies, or industrial protocols (e.g., OT platforms, Firewalls, Modbus, OPC).
- Some repetition in responsibilities (notably incident response and reporting) that could be streamlined.
