On behalf of the Cabinet Office we are looking for an AI Specialist (Inside IR35) for a 3-month contract, working remotely.

The Applied Data & Insight team (ADI) are part of Government Communication Service (GCS), sitting at the centre of government in the Cabinet Office. It’s an exciting time to join GCS after the launch of the GCS Innovating with Impact Strategy, setting our vision to harness the rapid technological changes in communications for the public good.
We are looking for technical specialist with experience in Artificial Intelligence to join our team. Helping to design, develop and deliver a Generative AI based tool for an audience of more than 7000 government communicators, the role holder will work alongside Developers, Data Scientists, and a Product Manager to maintain and iterate the current tool from Public Beta through to Live.
As an AI Specialist your main responsibilities will be:
. Helping design, develop, refine and iterate an existing RAG functionality.
. Helping design, develop, refine and iterate our use of system prompting, alongside our tool’s ‘pre- built prompts’ that enable users to benefit from pre-written prompts for their specific tasks.
. Helping to design and develop incoming features around sentiment analysis, data ingestion and synthetic audience creation.
. Collaborating with Software Developers to ensure they understand their work sufficiently.
. Working across the team to ensure informed decisions are made on the application design and testing approaches.
. Contributing to technical decision making alongside colleagues.
. Contributing to the required documentation and Agile project maintenance responsibilities.
Essential:
. An active SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role.
. Must be familiar with Generative AI technology, including Large Language Models.
. Must have experience of working with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) functionality and other LLM concepts.
. Must have excellent understanding and implementation of security best practices for AI tooling development.
. Must have experience in contributing to informed decisions on architectural design.
. Must have an understanding of testing methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.
. Must be able to work within an agile team to deliver effectively and efficiently as part of a group.
