Job Description
AMS is a global workforce solutions partner committed to creating inclusive, dynamic, and future-ready workplaces. We help organisations adapt, grow, and thrive in an ever-evolving world by building, shaping, and optimising diverse talent strategies.
We partner with Tesco Bank to support their contingent recruitment processes. Acting as an extension of their recruitment teams, we connect them with skilled interim and temporary professionals, fostering workplaces where everyone can contribute and succeed.
On behalf of Tesco Bank, AMS are now looking for a PMO Manager based in Edinburgh for a contract length of 6 months.
Purpose of the role
- Support the delivery of Tesco Bank's Central Sierra Programme, a large and complex integration project with Barclays.
- Provide PMO leadership across governance, planning, reporting and assurance, enabling successful delivery across six major workstreams.
- Act as a flexible and proactive PMO Manager, equally comfortable working with senior stakeholders and rolling up your sleeves to support hands-on delivery.
What you'll do:
- Lead and support programme governance and assurance, preparing packs, running forums, and engaging with audit, risk and assurance cycles.
- Oversee planning by extracting and aligning plans from six large workstreams, ensuring consistency, prioritisation and framework maintenance.
- Manage RAID processes, using risks, issues and dependencies to drive delivery outcomes, not just reporting logs.
- Deliver accurate reporting and progress updates, facilitate key workshops, and support senior stakeholder reviews.
- Provide financial oversight by supporting programme forecasts, tracking spend and producing variance reports.
- Partner with delivery teams to ensure change requests and impact assessments are effectively managed.
- Balance hands-on PMO delivery with senior stakeholder engagement, ensuring both operational tasks and strategic oversight are delivered to a high standard.
Candidate Profile: Key accountabilities, skills & experience
- Proven experience as a PMO Manager on large, complex programmes, ideally in financial services or integration environments.
- Strong knowledge of governance, planning, RAID management, reporting and financial tracking within a PMO.
- Comfortable working with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Ability to partner with delivery teams and act as an enabler, not just an oversight function.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders and push back when needed.
- Resilience, pragmatism and adaptability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with scope creep and competing priorities.
- Positive, proactive and collaborative approach, with a willingness to take ownership.
