Royal London is a financial services company with a difference. As the UK's largest mutual life, pensions and investment company, we're owned by our members and work for their benefit, not for shareholder profits. We've grown rapidly and have been recognised as one of the UK's top rated places to work. Today, Royal London has over £114 billion of funds under management, and around 3,500 employees working in six offices across the UK and Ireland. We've worked hard to become experts in our specialist markets, building a trusted brand - and our teams have plenty of awards to show for it. Whatever team you're interested in joining and whatever role you play, we'll help you to make a difference.
Purpose of the Role:
This role is responsible for overseeing the outsourced fund accounting activities provided by third-party administrators (HSBC and State Street) for a wide range of regulated investment funds at RLAM.
As a Fund Accounting Oversight Analyst, you will be responsible for:
- Supervising, monitoring, and signing off on fund accounting reports and controls, with a key focus on oversight of outsourced fund accounting activities managed by HSBC and State Street.
- Conducting daily NAV reviews, monitoring share class and income movements, reviewing fair value adjustments, and overseeing weekly valuation sign-offs by fund managers.
- Reviewing monthly unit cost sheets, and overseeing key fund calculations including yield, dilution, distribution, and net fund income.
- Supporting daily pricing oversight for equity and fixed income securities across all RLAM-managed products and assist in reporting to the Valuation Oversight Committee.
- Undertaking oversight of existing and new funds to ensure compliance with business objectives and FCA regulatory requirements (e.g., outsourcing thematic review and Dear CEO letter).
- Providing operational oversight and sign-off for fund launches, closures, or migrations.
- Acting as a subject matter expert on operational fund accounting issues and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including operations, sales, and marketing.
- Leading and supporting process and technology enhancement projects to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and strengthen controls.
What we require from the candidate:
- A fund accounting background working within either asset management or a third-party administrator within an operational context.
- Knowledge around NAV calculations/estimations/oversight and security pricing.
- Involvement in project work would be helpful.
- You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as well as a passion for working in the asset management industry.
- Relevant industry qualifications i.e. IOC, IMC, CAIA (attained or working towards).
