Job Description
Our Contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) is one of our service offerings. Acting as an extension of their recruitment teams, we connect them with skilled interim and temporary professionals, fostering workplaces where everyone can contribute and succeed.
Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks' expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.
On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Data Engineer for a 12 month contract based in London (hybrid – 2 days in the office per week).
The Data Engineer will help drive the build of effortless, digital first customer experiences, simplifying the organisation by developing innovative data driven solutions through data pipelines, modelling and ETL design, inspiring to be commercially successful through insight and keep customers and the organisation's data safe and secure.
What you'll do:
- Build advanced automation of data engineering pipelines through removal of manual stages.
- Embed new data techniques through role modelling, training and experiment design oversight.
- Deliver a clear understanding of data platform costs to meet departments cost saving and income targets.
- Source new data using the most appropriate tooling for the situation.
- Develop solutions for streaming data ingestion and transformations in line with the client's streaming strategy.
- Analyse the business requirements from data modelling and feasibility point of view.
- Define the data model based on the analysis and the available architecture/tool stack.
- Implement the data pipelines from new sources to final views E2E.
The skills you'll need:
- Experience in developing data models & solutions from scratch i.e. from business requirements collection to the development of the solution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to details in the data.
- Python.
- Pyspark.
- SQL.
- Code management using Git.
- AWS.
- Experience working with mortgages data or treasury data.
