Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides everyday banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The bank's expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a UX Researcher / Designer for a 6 month contract based in London with remote work available.

Purpose of the Role:

You will lead, define and conduct investigations of customer experiences for current and prospective onboarding journeys for the client's unsecured lending products, which are delivered across multiple platforms from desktop to web, from mobile to tablet devices, for both browser-based experiences and native apps.

As a UX Researcher / Designer you will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with product owners, UX Designers, Visual designers, and other stakeholders to identify Human Centred Design (HCD) challenges at the proposition, conceptual/structural, and UI design for a given product or service.
  • Develop necessary research materials and carry out and report results of research/testing activities (both formal and on an ad hoc basis) using a variety of techniques and tools to elicit insight necessary to make informed and HCD decisions.
  • Collaborate in the development of high level storyboards and journey mapping.
  • Conduct customer research to inform and support product decisions.
  • Collaborate across teams and contribute to the activity backlog.
  • Apply insight and thought leadership to UX challenges.
  • Contribute to design related tasks.
  • Support the wider team and product owner with UX thinking and prototyping.

What we require from the candidate:

  • E-commerce experience is mandatory (buying journeys, customer acquisition, etc.)
  • Must have worked on customer facing products.
  • Experience with tools like Figma or Sketch.
  • Prototyping and design thinking skills highly desirable.
  • Digital based research.
  • Experience of shaping and scoping research approach to meet customer and business objectives.
  • Experience in UX design and associated techniques is desirable.
