On behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs, we are looking for a Skilled Welder for a 12 month contract based in Bristol.
Job description - the role
On a typical day as a Skilled Welder, you will be expected to engage in Health and Safety activity, produce components at the highest quality, follow Manufacturing Instructions and Data Cards, and work to meet high volume requirements. As a Skilled Welder you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining our excellent quality standards, being an integral part of our manufacturing process.
- Welding of Nickel, Steel and Alloys using various processes including TIG welding in accordance with defined specifications and procedures, as detailed within the Manufacturing Instructions and Data Cards.
- The role will require you to work to tight tolerances; experience of this will need to be demonstrated at interview.
- Work within strict HS&E guidelines, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- A basic IT knowledge is essential.
What we require from the candidate:
- Completed a recognised time-served apprenticeship including City and Guilds, NVQ3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline. (Original trade papers must be available for review at interview).
- Experience of Welding Aerospace standards.
- Experience in working with Nickels/Steels and Alloys.
- Ability to read and interpret design drawings (considered an asset).
- Professional and flexible attitude, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.
- Able and willing to work a multi-shift pattern including nights.
- Be self-motivated, with the ability to work on your own initiative or as part of a team.
- Understand how to maintain a clean and safe environment in the workplace and how to work to set deadlines to achieve performance targets.
- An up-to-date working knowledge of health, safety (including COSHH) and environmental procedures.
