On behalf of our client, AMS are currently recruiting for a high-volume of Skilled inspector positions for their Engine Overhaul Services (Maintenance & Overhaul Business) in Derby. These Skilled Inspection positions are available on initial 12-month contracts based on their Derby site following a 7-day working shift pattern. There will be a potential for a number of 2 shift Mon-Fri roles available. As a Skilled inspector you will be responsible for: Purpose of the Skilled Inspection Role: Inspection of Engines/Modular assemblies using the direction of Engine Manuals, Work Instructions, Technical Information & drawings and using the information to ensure that all Engine components are serviceable or need repair/replacing. The Skilled Inspector will work as part of the Overhaul Team to raise non-conformances, overcheck critical build assemblies and ensure the engine configuration is correct to customer/regulatory requirement. Working to set deadlines to achieve performance targets and Customer delivery commitments. Working in a compliant manner to ensure that products are built to the correct technical and quality specifications. Ensuring Health & safety is kept to a high standard, at all times. Participating in continual review and improvement processes for the business to identify best practice. Work in collaboration with Quality & Engineering Functions daily to ensure air worthiness is of the highest standard.What we require from the candidate: Education required: You will have completed a recognised relevant time-served apprenticeship, evidenced with an NVQ Level 3 & Technical Certificate at level 3 or above or equivalent international qualification We will also accept equivalent qualifications gained through service within the Armed Forces providing they meet the requirement.What we require from the candidate: Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in using a variety of engineering equipment and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply instructions correctly to achieve required product quality. Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate relevant Inspection experience of working with engine/complex assembly components. Knowledge of lean principles and process basics.
