Our Client is one of the world's longest standing general insurers, providing peace of mind to individuals and families, and protecting small businesses and large corporations from uncertainty for more than 305 years. They provide award‑winning personal, commercial and specialty insurance products and services direct‑to‑customers, via brokers and affinity partners.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Data Management Lead for a 9 month contract based in London (hybrid model, 3 days a week in the office).

Purpose of the role

The Data Management Lead is responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of data management practices, ensuring high data quality, governance and compliance across the organisation. This role will focus on establishing robust data management frameworks for our client's Enterprise Data Foundation and drive the implementation informed by use cases. The role will collaborate closely with data governance, engineering and business teams to enable data as a trusted asset.

What you'll do

  • Establish and manage data quality frameworks and processes to ensure that data is accurate, complete, and reliable.
  • Oversee the development of data quality dashboards and KPIs to track the health of critical data assets.
  • Ensure all data management practices comply with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Work closely with compliance teams to ensure data is handled securely and adheres to privacy standards.
  • Implement systems and processes to capture and maintain comprehensive metadata and data lineage for key data assets.
  • Oversee enterprise MDM/RDM strategy implementation, ensuring that master data across key business domains (e.g., customers, policies, claims) is consistent and accurate across all systems.
  • Collaborate with enterprise data architecture, data delivery, and business teams to ensure that data management practices are embedded throughout the data lifecycle—from data sourcing to data consumption.
  • Work closely with IT and security teams to ensure that data is handled securely, protecting it from unauthorised access, breaches and data loss.
  • Lead the delivery of training programs to raise awareness of data management practices across the organisation.

The skills you'll need

  • Strong delivery experience to develop and execute roadmaps and implementation plans.
  • Hands‑On expertise in data quality, metadata, lineage, MDM/RDM strategies and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with data management platforms (e.g., Purview, Collibra, Informatica) and tools.
  • Experience and a strong working knowledge of developing and implementing data quality solutions.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure) and data governance tools.
  • Ability to work with cross‑functional teams to enforce and implement data management solutions.
  • Ideally hold strong Insurance domain knowledge (preferred), or financial background.

Employment model

This client will only accept workers operating via an Umbrella or PAYE engagement model.
