Job description - the role
As a Manufacturing Technician you will work as part of the Hydromechanical Valves production team and play a critical role in the production of high-precision components for the Civil and Defence Aerospace businesses, ensuring components are of the highest standard, ensuring safety, customer quality and on-time delivery following established working processes and quality procedures.
As a Manufacturing Technician you will:
- Operate advanced machining equipment to produce high-quality components safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to manufacture parts to precise tolerances.
- Carry out quality inspections using precision measuring equipment and visual standards.
- Support continuous improvement activities to enhance productivity, quality, and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in collaboration with Engineering and Maintenance teams.
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and uptime.
- Accurately record production and quality data while maintaining high safety standards.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve production targets and solve problems.
What We're Looking for in a Manufacturing Technician:
- NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline including completing a time-served recognised apprenticeship.
- Experience in manufacturing operations & production environment.
- Able to work to technical instructions and adhere to fixed process and quality standards.
- Confident in interpreting engineering drawings.
- Knowledge & experience of a wide range of inspection techniques.
