On behalf of our client, we are seeking an Experienced Family Solicitor within their Care Department. This is a senior position within the Care team, handling complex children law proceedings and providing high-level advocacy across a diverse caseload. The role reports to the Head of the Care Department. It combines strategic case management with direct client interaction. You will work closely with senior colleagues, support junior staff, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal policies while delivering excellent service to vulnerable families.
Responsibilities will include:
- Provide high-level advocacy in complex care proceedings.
- Manage a personal caseload, meeting tight deadlines and prioritising work effectively.
- Handle both public and private children law cases, including intricate care matters.
- Maintain strong client-facing relationships with a professional, friendly, and reassuring approach.
- Collaborate with the team, demonstrating excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ensure adherence to compliance, policies, and internal systems.
- Contribute to the development of best-practice procedures within the department.
- Support junior colleagues and share expertise as required.
- Work towards continuous improvement in case handling and service delivery.
The Person:
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated solicitor with strong advocacy skills, a client-focused attitude, and a commitment to delivering high-quality children law services. 5 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in children law. Law Society Children Law Accreditation, or demonstrable progress towards it, and meeting LAA supervisor requirements. Proven experience handling both public and private children law proceedings, including complex care cases. Excellent advocacy and client-facing abilities with a professional, friendly manner. Ability to manage a caseload, meet tight deadlines, and work collaboratively within a team.
