An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Business Analyst to join a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation. This role plays a crucial part in shaping and delivering strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment between organisational objectives and tangible project outcomes.

The successful candidate will provide expert business analysis across a portfolio of strategic projects, driving effective governance, financial management, and benefits realisation. They will work closely with senior stakeholders, influencing key decision-makers and enhancing the organisation’s approach to business analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of strategic business cases, collaborating with financial teams to ensure robust cost-benefit analysis.
  • Develop and implement business analysis frameworks, ensuring best practice is consistently applied across the organisation.
  • Work with senior leadership to identify and prioritise strategic programmes and projects.
  • Establish and oversee processes for benefits realisation and risk management within the project portfolio.
  • Provide expert guidance and coaching to business analysts, project managers, and senior stakeholders.
  • Implement effective reporting mechanisms, including dashboard analytics, to track project progress and business impact.
  • Facilitate strategic workshops, supporting business units in clarifying and formalising business needs.
The person
  • Project or Programme Management Qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of business analysis and project management methodologies/frameworks and their application.
  • Higher Education or Public Sector experience is essential.
  • Experience of resource capacity planning, workshop facilitation, change control and transition management, assurance/quality reviews, development of business cases and benefits management, supplier management, formal project governance approaches, stakeholder and communications management and design and production of project dashboards.
  • Significant project work experience, including working in teams on multiple tasks at one time.
  • Financial Management.
  • Experience of leading stakeholders to define their business needs.
  • Strategic analysis, thought leadership and leadership and management skills.
