We are delighted to be working with an established and highly successful technology business to help them find an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner to support their Commercial Team.
The Role
This is a highly commercial finance position, partnering closely with sales, senior leadership and operational teams to provide financial insight and challenge across high-value and complex commercial opportunities. You will play a key role in shaping deal strategy, pricing and profitability, ensuring that opportunities are commercially robust and deliver long-term value. You will also provide financial leadership across bids, tenders, renewals and major proposals, translating complex financial information into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- Act as a senior finance partner to the sales function, providing commercial insight on complex and high-value opportunities.
- Lead the financial input into bids, tenders and major proposals.
- Provide guidance on pricing, deal structure, profitability and commercial terms.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial and commercial models.
- Support renewals and retention activity, balancing competitiveness with margin and profitability.
- Work with internal teams to develop and embed effective pricing methodologies.
- Ensure commercial models are robust, consistent and deliverable.
- Drive consistency across deal modelling, pricing and cost-to-serve frameworks.
- Support and strengthen sales governance processes and provide commercial approval in line with agreed frameworks.
- Develop sales budgets and forecasting models.
- Improve sales and pipeline reporting, providing insight into performance and variances.
- Own customer-level profitability analysis and use this to support commercial decision making.
- Support the design and development of the annual commission plan and ensure processes are accurate and well controlled.
- Act as a trusted financial adviser to senior stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve commercial finance processes, systems and governance.
- Build strong relationships across Finance, Sales and wider business functions.
About You
We are looking for a qualified accountant who combines strong technical finance capability with excellent commercial judgement. You will ideally have:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
- At least 5 years' post-qualified experience.
- Strong commercial finance/business partnering experience.
- Experience of budgeting and forecasting.
- Experience supporting complex commercial decisions, pricing or deal modelling.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial information.
- Strong commercial awareness and the confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience of managing or coaching more junior finance professionals.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial reporting capability.
- Experience of ERP and finance systems would be advantageous.
