The Role
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Functional Skills English Tutor to deliver English to apprentices as part of their apprenticeship programmes. In this dynamic and engaging role, you will play a key part in supporting apprentices to achieve their Functional Skills qualifications alongside their vocational learning.
Responsibilities will include:
- Deliver high-quality Functional Skills English to apprentices across up to Level 2.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet the individual needs of learners, including those with SEND or additional learning needs.
- Apply inclusive teaching strategies in line with Ofsted's Education Inspection Framework, ensuring all learners can access, engage with, and progress through their learning.
- Use a range of innovative and blended delivery methods, including virtual classrooms and digital resources, to create engaging and accessible learning experiences.
- Monitor learner progress, set clear targets, and support apprentices towards timely achievement.
- Maintain accurate and compliant records, contributing to quality assurance and performance measures.
The Person
The ideal candidate is dynamic, engaging, and inspirational, with the ability to contextualise English within real workplace scenarios. Recognised teaching qualification is ideal. Level 2 / GCSE (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English. Experience delivering Functional Skills English in FE (E3L2) is ideal. Awareness of inclusive practice, differentiation, and reasonable adjustments. Experience supporting learners with additional learning support needs is ideal.
The Salary
£28,000-£30,000 pro rata
The Hours
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday with an 8am start (21 hours per week)
