The Job: We are seeking a Junior Portfolio Manager to join the Portfolio Management team on a fixed term contract. In this role you will support the delivery of proactive investment management on a discretionary basis, reporting to the Senior Portfolio Manager within the Portfolio Management department. You will be involved in onboarding new portfolios, daily dealing, cash sweeps, and maintaining model portfolios. This is a hands-on position that requires strong organisation, good communication, and a methodical approach to operational work.

Responsibilities within this role will include:

  • Responsible for the initial onboarding of all new portfolios.
  • Responsible for the final onboarding of new modelled portfolios, including system configuration.
  • Create and submit bulk transactions for non-modelled portfolios.
  • Undertake daily dealing across all modelled portfolios for new investments and cash management.
  • Organise and execute periodic re-balancing of modelled portfolios and bulk fund changes.
  • Build, update and maintain model portfolios on third-party platforms.
  • Serve as first point of contact for platform queries, setting up new clients and investing funds.
  • Conduct weekly cash sweeps and allocate monthly contributions.
  • Produce and distribute breach reports.
  • Liaise with other departments to resolve data errors and operational issues.

The Person: The ideal candidate is highly organised, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced financial services environment. Strong administration and attention to detail skills. Excellent time-management and problem-solving abilities. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office competence. Experience in financial services is preferred, along with a willingness to obtain relevant qualifications.

The Hours: Monday to Friday: (35 hours per week) 9am 5pm.

The Benefits: 35-hour working week. 10% non-contributory pension, with any voluntary salary sacrifice enhanced by 10%. Discretionary bonus opportunity, dependent upon business and personal performance. Salary supplement in lieu of protection benefits, calculated at 2% of gross base salary and paid monthly. Two days paid leave per annum to participate in Corporate Social Responsibility activities, subject to line manager approval.

The Salary: £27,000 (12 month fixed term contract).
