We are seeking a Housing and Compliance Officer. This role focuses on maintaining safe, suitable and well-managed housing for tenants. You will oversee maintenance and property budgets, health and safety, and the quality of managed schemes.

Reporting to the Housing and Compliance Manager, you will work closely with the Care Team and Maintenance team to support tenancy sustainment, resolve housing issues, and deliver a high-quality customer-focused service.

  • Recover rent and service charge arrears, from early intervention through to enforcement and court applications.
  • Assist the Management Team to implement and review policies including Rent Arrears, Allocations, Transfers, and Mutual Exchanges.
  • Lead, promote, and support tenant moves through mutual exchange, private rent, and choice-based lettings schemes.
  • Provide a comprehensive, customer-focused neighbourhood housing service.
  • Work with the Care Team to sustain tenancies and provide preventative support.
  • Manage empty properties through pre-void inspections and timely new tenant sign-ups.
  • Resolve tenancy management issues including safeguarding, anti-social behaviour, breaches, and queries.
  • Conduct health and safety checks in line with policy.
  • Review tenants' circumstances regularly and recommend appropriate housing options.

You will be a strong communicator with a proactive, self-starting attitude and the confidence to manage a varied housing and compliance workload. Full driving licence essential with access to your own vehicle. Strong IT skills and experience using housing management systems. Knowledge of housing benefits and tenancy legislation. Previous experience in a similar housing or compliance role preferred.

Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 9am to 5pm with 30 minutes for lunch. Hourly Rate: £13.64 per hour / £26,598.
