Are you a pensions professional with a deep understanding of Defined Benefit (DB) schemes and a passion for ensuring smooth transitions? We are seeking a Pension Transitions Consultant to play a key role in delivering seamless transitions for pension schemes, ensuring benefits are accurately administered, and customers receive the best possible service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage scheme-specific transition plans, providing clear documentation and oversight to all stakeholders.
- Analyse scheme benefits and data to draft legal agreements, ensuring smooth administration.
- Conduct first-line peer reviews to guarantee accurate benefit specifications and funding.
- Take ownership of allocated schemes, maintaining strong customer communication and ensuring timely responses.
- Support the new business origination team by advising on administration capabilities and assessing data quality pre-transaction.
- Ensure effective communication and maintain a full audit trail of benefit and data items throughout the onboarding process.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, providing management information (MI) as needed.
- Keep internal teams and third parties informed of key updates to support accurate and fair customer outcomes.
- Support team development by mentoring and training less experienced colleagues.
- Ensure customers receive clear, tailored information regarding their benefits and any necessary actions.
What We\’re Looking For:
- Pension qualification such as CII or PMI (or equivalent experience).
- In-depth knowledge of DB scheme regulations and the de-risking process.
- Strong understanding of DB scheme benefits structure and administration.
- Proven ability to manage tight timescales, prioritise work, and escalate issues when needed.
- Strong attention to detail with a right-first-time approach to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Awareness of operational risks within pensions administration and a proactive approach to mitigating them.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills.
- A customer-focused mindset with the ability to build strong relationships with policyholders, trustees, third parties, and internal teams.
