Our client is a well-respected established Nottingham business in the Construction sector who are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to report to the owners of the business. This is a hands-on position where you will take full ownership of the finance function, reporting directly to senior leadership. Leading a small and dedicated team, you will oversee day-to-day financial operations while also providing strategic insight to support business growth and operational excellence.
The role will be extremely varied and suit an individual who is "hands-on" but also enjoys involvement in the strategic development and growth of the company. You will be leading and developing the finance team, ensuring clear accountability and high performance across all areas of finance (especially in credit control).
Overseeing the month-end process and ensuring the delivery of accurate and meaningful financial information. Reviewing and strengthening financial controls, processes and reporting capabilities.
Duties will cover:
- Production of Management Accounts - full P&L
- Month/Yearend Production
- Project Costing involvement
- Cashflow and forecasting/Budget
- Monthly reporting to the board
- General Accounts - A&P/VAT/Bank Reconciliation/Fixed Asset Register
This is a great role for an individual who can see the "bigger picture" and help the Directors to take the business forward. You will be managing a small finance team in this secure successful business.
Our client would ideally like you to be qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA/AAT but is happy to consider QBE (qualified by experience accountants). You will have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working across the business.
