ALEXANDER JAMES RECRUITING is currently working with an international supplier of heavy material handling equipment who are looking to employ a shift maintenance technician to work on a customer site in Belfast. With a competitive salary & great earning potential through shift allowance and guaranteed overtime, this is a great opportunity for an experienced technician who has worked on cranes, forklifts or heavy plant interested in a new role.
Responsibilities:
- Servicing a fleet of heavy material handling equipment to include cranes, terminal tractors and straddle carriers at a site in Belfast Port.
- Performing preventative electrical, mechanical and hydraulic maintenance as well as repairing equipment when failure occurs.
- Ensuring maintenance complies with health & safety legislation.
- Developing a knowledge of a wide variety of equipment within a technically developing fleet.
- Reporting to the Service Manager to ensure all equipment servicing is carried out efficiently.
Requirements:
- The company has a preference for an individual from a crane, forklift or heavy plant background.
- It is essential you hold electrical and mechanical qualifications and ideally have experience carrying out diagnostics on electrical systems.
- The role is physically demanding and requires the individual to be prepared for this.
- Shift patterns rotate each week on day shift patterns; there may be an expectation to work night shifts to cover holidays on occasion.
- You must be within commutable distance of Belfast Port.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary (up to £38k depending on experience).
- Shift allowance (£9.2k per year).
- Shifts (40 hours between 7am – 7pm).
- Week 1 – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday.
