A leading provider of warehouse racking, storage & shelving is seeking a new office-based CAD Design Engineer to assist the sales & projects teams in creating racking designs for the company’s clients around the West Midlands. With a competitive package and opportunity to progress long term, this is a great chance for a CAD Designer seeking a design-focused role.
Responsibilities
- Using AutoCAD software to design and create technical drawings for racking and storage systems based on requirements supplied by the sales/projects team.
- Supporting the sales/projects teams in quoting and winning contracts for the business.
- Amending layout designs throughout the durations of the project to best suit the clients’ needs whilst complying with Health & Safety standards.
- Taking in-bound customer enquiries and supporting clients over the phone as and when required.
- Liaising with suppliers to ensure projects are delivered to the laid out time frames.
- Assisting with other areas of the business as and when required.
Requirements
- Experience of designing layouts using AutoCAD within Racking, Storage, Mezzanines or Partitioning.
- It would be highly preferable for the successful individual to hold a HNC in Engineering or another engineering/design focused qualification.
- Comfortable speaking to clients over the phone as this will be a key part of the role.
- Based in the West Midlands since the role will be office-based.
