For Companies Alexander James Recruiting is currently working with a leading distributor of Racking & Storage products that are looking to on-board a Senior CAD Designer to work on projects for clients across the North West and the UK. With a competitive basic salary and a number of other benefits, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CAD Designer with a strong understanding of the Racking & Storage industry.
Responsibilities
- Using autoCAD software to design and create technical drawings and plans of racking and storage systems based on requirements supplied by the sales team.
- Editing designs at various stages of the process as the customer requires.
- Providing accurate and detailed drawings which are to scale.
- Checking the feasibility of the manufacture and construction of the product.
- Ensuring that all drawings comply with the health and safety protocols set out by the industry.
- Creating documentation for installation and manufacturing.
Requirements
The company is ideally looking for an individual with experience of carrying out designs using autoCAD within the Racking & Storage industry. It is also essential that you have experience working for a business that operates as the principal designer/contractor and have a strong understanding of building control regulations. In terms of location, you will ideally be based in the North West or within a reasonable distance as this role will be office-based.
Benefits
- Basic salary up to £55,000 (depending on experience).

Their range of products includes pallet racking, steel partitioning, mezzanine floors, industrial shelving, and workplace equipment. They are now also the sole supplier for a number of Warehouse Robotics products across the UK. Established over 50 years ago, the organisation is now making a push into Warehouse Automation so they can truly offer a complete solution to their client base.
