The predicted salary is between 29000 - 29000 £ per year.

Hours: 5 days out of 7 including weekends to allow for scheduling tasks around guest requirements. 40 hours per week, flexible working shifts.

Location: Must be able to travel and cover tasks in Guildford and Egham in Surrey (2 hotel locations).

Salary: £29,000 per annum + monthly service charge payment.

Alexander Hotels are a collection of five luxury hotels, in the 4 & 5-star market, based in the South of England. We are looking to recruit for a Group Maintenance Assistant and Painter to support our onsite maintenance teams at our 5 hotels. You will report to the Operations Director and liaise with General Managers about priority tasks needing support.

To be successful you will need to be able to demonstrate confidence in key areas of maintenance including basic plumbing, electrical and painting.

MAIN DUTIES

General Maintenance Duties:

  • To ensure reactive and planned maintenance is covered to assist in making sure the hotels and spas are presented appropriately and all facilities are maintained in excellent working order.
  • A certified training course will also be provided to cover pool plant procedures & maintenance.
  • Completing general maintenance tasks from the daily maintenance list ensuring that priority tasks are completed.
  • Tasks will include pool plant, basic plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry/joinery.

Painting and Decorating Duties:

  • Duties will include internal painting; entire rooms or areas, repainting damaged or worn areas, touching up minor scuffs to keep areas looking immaculate.
  • Some exterior painting and wood staining may also be included in your duties.
  • Applicants will possess excellent technical skills in all areas of painting.
  • Practice effective preparation techniques to ensure a lasting and high quality finish.
  • Ensure excellent quality of applications in order to meet excellent standards.
  • Be competent in all finishes; gloss work, emulsion, egg shell, wood stain.
  • Have a good eye for detail.
  • Work in a safe way for yourself, colleagues and guests causing minimum disruption.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment covering a wide range of general maintenance tasks in a customer environment.
  • General maintenance experience ideally within a guest/customer environment.
  • Priority areas of experience either plumbing or electrical.
  • Someone located to make travel to our 2 hotels in Guildford and Egham realistic.
