We are seeking a General Manager or an experienced Management Couple to be responsible for the operational excellence of our 22-bedroom 4 Red Star hotel, Langshott Manor Hotel. Langshott Manor is a thriving hotel with a focus on food and beverage service in the 2 rosette Mulberry Restaurant as well as exclusive use high quality weddings. Applicants must have a bias of experience towards food and beverage service and enjoy being out in the hotel visible to employees and guests.

Reporting to the company’s Operations Director and Director, you will operate and care for the business as if it were your own. We have an excellent Head Chef, so you will not be needed in the kitchen cooking! Your focus will be front of house guest service. The hotel team of 25 employees rely on you to lead them, inspire them and work with them during peak times to achieve service goals and standards.

Peak periods will see you helping out in reception with check in/check out, working with the housekeeping team to ensure rooms are ready to the standard expected, before ensuring the restaurant and bar are ready for a busy evening service. During events, you will supervise set up and service delivery throughout the event.

In order to be successful, you will need to be a natural host, out there with the employees motivated and supporting them to be the best they can be with a focus on excellent guest service. Our sales team will ensure you have regular high-end weddings, often exclusive use, so experience in running weddings would be a distinct advantage.

A keen eye for details to ensure the hotel and gardens are always on first class display will further help to secure a successful guest experience and reaction. You will be resilient and determined, adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced changing environment. Your team management experience will allow you to pull together the right people and to coach and develop them to help in driving the business forwards and achieving success.

To prepare for the week ahead, you will need to be effective at rostering employees, making sure numbers match the business, ordering in the wet and dry stock (excluding food) to ensure everyone has the tools/products to deliver service. Recruitment of new team members, coaching and training will all be in your remit, supported by our group trainer and our recruitment manager.
