This role involves managing the tax team alongside the Tax Directors/Associate Directors to ensure timely, accurate delivery of tax services. The position is 80% advisory-based and 20% compliance, with the Senior Manager leading high-level projects, managing a client portfolio, and supporting the technical development of the wider team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver tax advisory assignments, including complex projects.
- Support Directors on high-level advisory work.
- Prepare or oversee complex client tax returns.
- Manage and develop client relationships within your own portfolio.
- Provide technical tax advice to internal teams and clients.
- Drive internal initiatives, support marketing efforts, and contribute to content creation.
- Collaborate across departments to identify new business opportunities.
- Monitor and support team development, training, and performance.
- Involvement in departmental financials: chargeable time, recoveries, and billings.
General Duties:
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through CPD and professional reading.
- Mentor and support junior team members, including Tax Managers.
- Identify and act on cross-selling opportunities.
- Work closely with both tax and non-tax Managers/Directors to ensure service excellence.
- Uphold high professional standards in all work and communications.

Experience & Qualifications:
- ATT and/or CTA qualified with a minimum of 8 years relevant tax experience.
- Without ATT: minimum of 10 years relevant tax experience.
- Proven experience in corporate tax advisory, restructuring, due diligence, and compliance.
- Experience with EIS, EMI options, and R&D Tax credits (preferred, not essential).
