Location: Biggleswade (Onsite)
Salary: £28,000 £35,000 per annum

We are an AAT Licensed Accountancy Practice based in Biggleswade, with a growing team of over 15 professionals. We provide a broad range of accounting services to a diverse client base and pride ourselves on delivering accurate, efficient, and personalised financial support.

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. This is an onsite role with occasional visits to client premises as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients

• Prepare accounts to trial balance

• Process VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC deadlines

• Run weekly/monthly payroll and handle associated reporting

• Reconcile bank and control accounts

• Liaise regularly with clients and internal accountants to resolve queries

• Assist with management accounts preparation when required

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar bookkeeping role (including practice)

• Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 and Xero (certifications desirable)

• Solid understanding of VAT and payroll processes

• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills

• Comfortable working independently and visiting client premises when needed

• Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
