We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team, working within a security-sensitive environment in the Stansted area. This is a varied small works role, covering projects ranging in value from £1k to £800k, where accuracy, professionalism, and strong client communication are essential. You will play a key role in pricing works, managing project costs, supporting invoicing, and ensuring smooth financial control across multiple live projects. This role suits a proactive Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working in a close-knit team, managing multiple workstreams, and dealing directly with clients and site teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Pricing small works projects ranging from £1k to £800k
- Preparing and assisting with invoicing and applications for payment
- Attending site visits to assess works and support accurate pricing
- Managing monthly budgets and cost tracking
- Producing regular project cost reports
- Maintaining clear, professional, and client-friendly communication
- Supporting the commercial team to ensure projects are delivered within budget
- Working collaboratively with site teams, clients, and subcontractors
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within small works or fast-paced project environments
- Strong understanding of construction pricing, cost control, and budgeting
- Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team
- Experience with project reporting and invoicing
- Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience working within secure or high-risk environments
- Background in refurbishment, maintenance, or small works contracts
- Familiarity with controlled-access sites
Salary
