This is an amazing opportunity for a degree qualified Trainee QS who is looking for a role where they will be developed and have a pathway through the business promotion wise. This role is within our Client's lovely offices based in countryside in the West Essex area close to Epping/Loughton/Chigwell.

Trainee Quantity Surveyor Job Requirements:

  • Quantity Surveying Degree
  • 2-3 years' experience
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Attention to detail
  • IT proficiency (especially Excel)
  • Good communication skills

You will be working closely with the Commercial Manager; with their role & responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following tasks:

Trainee Quantity Surveyor Role:

  • Commercial management of projects from Contract Award, through to Practical Completion
  • Liaising with Purchasing Dept, in relation to material procurement
  • Managing project variation accounts, through to Final Account negotiations/agreement
  • Managing subcontractor accounts & payments
  • Site visits to monitor progress
  • Monthly cost reporting, highlighting potential cost variances & risks
  • Monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR)
  • Liaising with Clients, Main Contractors, Subcontractors & Suppliers to develop relationships

Trainee Quantity Surveyor - What is on offer:

  • Salary: £30-35k DOE
  • Hours: 8am-5pm Monday to Friday
  • Office based
  • Company Pension - Following 3 months service
  • Private Health - Following 12 months service
  • Monthly mobile allowance
  • Holidays: 20 days holidays (plus bank holidays). Holidays increase 1 day per year up to 25 days
