Facades Design Manager – HYBRID BUT UK BASED with access to occasional London site visits
I am looking for an experienced Senior Facades Design Manager to work within the London area / Flexible working.
This is an amazing job opportunity that gives you the flexibility of working from home, being on-site occasionally and Head Office meetings approx once a month / once every 2 months.
This is working for a long standing client of mine who are expanding and in need of someone to help run the Design Team Most of the projects are re-Cladding various properties and a previous role within cladding/EWI/rainscreen cladding/facades or any related industry is desired.
Design Manager Role
- Management and audit of the assigned projects in its support of design, in conjunction with the relevant commercial & site teams.
- Manage specifications and drawings, including creation and amendments, where design is applicable.
- Liaise with Site Managers to assist in quality of delivery of core services.
- Manage, motivate and appraise staff that reports directly to the Design Manager.
- Liaison with H&S and other departments as required to improve business processes and maintain quality, throughout the company.
- Liaison with manufacturers, external structural engineers and architects.
Design Manager Details
- Collation, management and monitoring of specifications, drawings related calculations and design process from start to finish on the assigned projects, where company design is applicable.
- Liaison with manufacturers and project teams including distribution of relevant documentation.
- Respond to technical queries and make recommendations to resolve problems.
- Respond to ad-hoc problems and raise with Head of Design accordingly.
- Understand commercial implications of risks, issues and recommendations.
- Management and monitoring of design specifications and drawings for other external/sub-contract works (i.e. windows, roofing, M&E), etc. Key tasks
- Visit sites on a planned and ad-hoc basis.
- Attend regular meetings with Site Teams, as required.
- Attend Client Design Meetings
- Resolve site issues and make recommendations for future changes to Head of Design.
- Management of direct reporting staff

- Technical qualifications.
- Experienced design manager, within environmental construction projects.
- CSCS card.
- DSB checked as required for specific sites (e.g. schools).
General IT: Competent user MS Excel, MS Word, Microsoft Outlook email and calendars. Competent user Project Probe. Expert CAD user
