A fastâgrowing UK-based services organisation is seeking a proactive and commercially minded Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function across two operating entities. This role offers the opportunity to combine operational finance responsibility with meaningful strategic impact.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical grounding, gained either through training with a wellâestablished accounting firm or via a structured graduate programme within a larger corporate environment.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, the Finance Manager will play a key role in strengthening financial processes, delivering accurate and insightful reporting, and partnering with senior leadership to drive business performance. Key Responsibilities
- Core Financial Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Produce financial dashboards for leadership and board use
- Manage VAT returns, payroll journals and statutory compliance
- Oversee the annual audit and liaise with external advisors
- Maintain strong internal controls and financial processes
- Monitor cash flow, working capital and cash requirements
- Oversee invoicing, credit control and supplier payments
- Support implementation of new finance systems and tools
- Identify and deliver cost efficiencies and process improvements
- Support business planning, growth modelling and investment decisions
- Prepare finance packs for board, investor and lender meetings
- Evaluate ROI on internal projects or new initiatives
- Assist with pricing and commercial analysis
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure ongoing compliance with UK financial regulations
Essential
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Strong experience in management accounts, budgeting & reporting
- Excellent understanding of VAT, UK compliance and statutory requirements
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
- Confident using finance systems and implementing improvements
