ALEXANDER DANIELS are exclusively recruiting for a Finance Business Partner to join a high-growth organisation in the West Midlands. You will provide high-quality financial information and commercial insight to support strategic and operational decision-making. You will take ownership of the management accounting function, working closely with senior stakeholders to drive performance, budgeting, forecasting and financial control across the business. This role is 5 days a week onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
- Provide timely variance analysis with clear commentary for senior stakeholders.
- Produce regular margin analysis and key performance indicators to support business performance reviews.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting cycles.
- Prepare and maintain regular cashflow forecasts.
- Work closely with budget holders to challenge assumptions and align financial plans with business strategy.
- Act as a finance business partner to non-finance teams to influence performance and improve outcomes.
- Support cost control, margin improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Lead regular performance review meetings with operational management.
- Ensure robust financial controls across key processes, including month end close and reconciliations.
- Monitor overheads and investigate significant variances.
- Support statutory audit processes and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Prepare indirect tax returns accurately and on time.
- Contribute to the development of financial systems and the use of automated reporting tools.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting quality and workflow efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial discipline and data accuracy.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Qualified accountant (e.g. CIMA, ACCA or ACA).
- Strong management accounting experience within an SME or commercial environment.
- Excellent commercial awareness with strong analytical, Excel and reporting skills.
- Confident communicator, able to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Proactive, enthusiastic self-starter with a desire to develop and grow with the business.
Desirable
- Experience within a service led or operationally focused environment.
