What you’ll be doing
As a Semi-Senior Accountant, you’ll work closely with a diverse portfolio of clients, providing accounting, tax and business advisory support. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing year-end accounts and financial statements
- Producing management accounts and financial reports
- Preparing and submitting personal and corporate tax returns
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Analysing financial data and providing meaningful insights to clients
- Reconciling accounts and reviewing ledgers for accuracy
- Supporting bookkeeping activities, including VAT returns and bank reconciliations
- Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients when required
- Assisting senior team members with portfolio management
- Helping to support and mentor junior colleagues
- Contributing to process improvements that enhance efficiency and client service
- What we’re looking for
- AAT Level 3 qualified (or above)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accountancy or finance role
- Experience working within an accountancy practice environment
- Strong knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and client relationship-building abilities
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- A proactive attitude and genuine desire to continue learning and developing
