We’re supporting a respected and growing organisation in Coventry that’s looking for a confident and proactive Credit Controller to join their finance team. What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing your own ledger and ensuring timely collection of outstanding debt
- Building strong relationships with customers to resolve queries and encourage prompt payment
- Monitoring aged debt, identifying risks, and escalating issues where appropriate
- Allocating cash accurately and maintaining up‑to‑date account records
- Working closely with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and support smooth billing processes
- Preparing statements, chasing schedules, and supporting month‑end reporting
- Assisting with credit checks, account setup, and ongoing customer account maintenance
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the credit control function
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years’ experience in credit control
- Strong understanding of credit control processes and best practice
- Excellent communication skills with a confident, professional approach
- Highly organised, detail‑driven, and comfortable working to deadlines
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and finance systems
- A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with the ability to handle sensitive conversations
- Someone who is positive, resilient, and committed to delivering great service
- CICM or AAT or similar qualifications are beneficial but not essential
