The role
You’ll manage your own portfolio of accounts, taking full responsibility for collecting debt efficiently while building strong working relationships with customers and colleagues alike.
It’s a role with genuine variety, from credit assessments through to negotiating repayment plans, and there’s plenty of scope to bring your own initiative to it.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing your own group of accounts to collect debt quickly and efficiently
- Evaluating new credit requests and setting up terms and conditions
- Reviewing customer credit ratings and following up on payments
- Responding professionally to customer queries by phone and email
- Negotiating repayment plans with customers and ensuring compliance
- Checking and posting statements to the credit control system
- Preparing monthly statements of accounts in Excel
- Raising credits accurately with strong attention to detail
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in a similar credit control environment
- A good standard of education, including maths and English
- Excellent telephone manner and a professional, customer-first approach
- Confident working as part of a team as well as using your own initiative
What’s on offer
- Salary of £28,000 – £31,000, depending on experience
- 37.5 hours per week
- Hybrid working: minimum 3 days a week in the Cannock office, 2 from home
