Alexander Daniels are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant for a business based in Birmingham. This role offers an opportunity for you to take on a role that is rounded with a variation of tasks. The successful candidate must have previous experience in a similar role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Finance in the day to day bookkeeping.
- Processing accruals, prepayments, depreciation and monthly & year end journals.
- Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers, including postings and account reconciliations.
- Reporting on debtors and creditors and delivering and dealing with invoice queries/disputes.
- Completing Balance sheet, Control Accounts, Bank & Company Credit Cards reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Reviewing & Submitting VAT and annual returns, reconciling to the accounting system.
- Assist with the yearend process and liaise with external auditors as required.
- Other Adhoc tasks as required.
Essential requirements:
- AAT Qualified or active studier.
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Experience in Xero (Desirable).
- Previous experience in a similar role (1-2 years).
This role is largely remote and requires you to attend the office 1 day a week.
