A well-established Solihull-based business is looking for an Accounts Assistant to support the finance team with daily transactional accounting tasks, helping maintain accurate financial records and efficient financial processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the purchase ledger
  • Handling accounts receivable
  • Completing regular bank reconciliations
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries
  • Processing and matching supplier invoices
  • Preparing supplier payment runs
  • Raising customer invoices and credit notes
  • Allocating receipts and monitoring outstanding debt
  • Supporting credit control and escalating overdue accounts
  • Investigating discrepancies and ensuring accurate cash postings
  • Assisting with petty cash and credit card reconciliations
  • Assisting with month-end tasks
  • Maintaining accurate financial records
  • Providing administrative support to the finance team

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounts assistant role
  • Strong understanding of purchase ledger and accounts receivable
  • Good accuracy, organisation, and communication skills
  • Competent with accounting software and Excel
  • AAT Level 2/3 desirable
