An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced insurance professional to join a well-established captive management team in Guernsey. This role offers the chance to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of captive insurance clients, combining technical expertise with client relationship management and strategic input. You’ll play a key role in helping clients manage and finance risk effectively, while contributing to high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day servicing and renewal of a portfolio of captive insurance clients
- Ensure all client and internal deadlines are met to a high standard
- Prepare and review insurance content for Board and Committee packs
- Attend and contribute to Board and Underwriting Committee meetings
- Draft and review meeting minutes and insurance documentation
- Review policy wordings and ensure programmes align with regulatory and legislative requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, insurers, regulators, and internal teams
- Keep clients informed of market developments and emerging trends
- Support budgeting, project work, and wider team initiatives
- Provide insurance and claims data to support financial reporting and management accounts
- Supervise and support junior team members, contributing to their development
Skills & Experience
- Relevant insurance qualification (e.g. ACII) or working towards
- Strong knowledge of general insurance and reinsurance
- Previous experience in captive insurance (desirable)
- Proven client relationship management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working with data and supporting financial reporting (Excel proficiency preferred)
- Experience supervising or mentoring colleagues is advantageous
