We are working on a confidential search for a Head of Operations to lead a highly capable manufacturing facility delivering complex, low-volume production projects for customers across advanced engineering sectors. The business operates a high-mix, low-volume model, acting as a contract manufacturing partner to its customers, delivering components and assemblies using a blend of technologies including:
- CNC Machining
- Advanced 3D Printing (Additive Manufacturing)
- Injection Moulding (Plastic & Metal)
- Finishing and assembly processes
The Role
As Head of Operations, you will:
- Lead and develop a team of ~30 across production, engineering, and support functions
- Take ownership of production performance, quality, and delivery
- Drive improvements in efficiency, throughput, and operational processes
- Build a strong culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and teamwork
- Work closely with leadership to scale and evolve the UK operation
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be expected to both set strategy and execute on the ground.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a strong operational leader who has:
- Experience managing manufacturing or production environments
- Exposure to advanced manufacturing technologies (e.g. CNC, additive manufacturing, injection moulding, or similar)
- A track record operating in high-mix, low-volume or project-based environments
- Strong leadership capability, with experience building and developing teams
- Experience with quality standards and regulated environments (e.g. ISO9001, AS9100, or similar)
- A mindset focused on continuous improvement, problem solving, and operational excellence
