We’re searching for an Application Engineer (Design/ Projects) to join an advanced manufacturing business working at the forefront of large-format additive manufacturing. This is a customer-facing, end-to-end role owning projects from concept to delivery. You’ll lead technical decisions, guide feasibility, and coordinate production to ensure high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise CAD designs (Fusion 360 or similar) for large-scale 3D printing
- Apply mould tool design / tooling principles to ensure manufacturability
- Define print strategies (toolpaths, supports, parameters)
- Lead project delivery (timelines, risks, quality)
- Act as technical lead for customers and support pre-sales feasibility
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure on-time delivery
Key Requirements
- Strong CAD design experience (Fusion 360 or similar)
- Background in mould tooling, pattern making, or tooling design
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DFM)
- Experience delivering technical projects and working with customers
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Nice to Have
- Additive manufacturing (LFAM / pellet extrusion)
- Composites (GRP / CFRP)
- CAM / CNC machining knowledge
- Experience in aerospace, defence, or marine
