We are partnering with a successful, privately owned and private equity–backed manufacturing organisation with a strong international footprint across multiple industry sectors. Following a period of strategic investment and consolidation, the business is entering an exciting new phase—bringing several operations together into a single, state‑of‑the‑art production facility in the West Midlands. With a clear growth agenda and strong market momentum, this role offers a unique opportunity for a commercially focused Finance Director to influence and drive meaningful change.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Group CFO and working closely with the Managing Director, the Finance Director will be a key member of the senior leadership team. You will play a central role in driving business performance, supporting transformation initiatives and contributing to value creation. This position requires a balance of strategic thinking and operational involvement—you’ll set the financial direction while remaining close to day‑to‑day activities, ensuring the finance function delivers real commercial value.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Managing Director and senior leadership team to support strategic decision‑making and business transformation
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and long‑range strategy
- Provide commercial insight and robust challenge to enhance business performance
- Develop, mentor and lead a high‑performing finance team, ensuring strong governance and controls
- Deliver clear, actionable reporting, KPIs and performance analysis
- Take ownership of manufacturing finance, including costing, pricing, margins and stock management
- Optimise working capital and cash flow, and evaluate capital investment opportunities
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and audit requirements
- Support ongoing systems, process and operational improvements
About You
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven senior finance leadership experience within manufacturing or distribution, ideally in a multi‑site environment
- Strong commercial acumen with the confidence to influence at board level
- Experience working in private equity–backed or high‑growth businesses preferred
- Hands‑on, visible leadership style with a willingness to engage with operational teams
- Ability to translate complex financial data into clear business insight
- Adaptable, pragmatic and effective in evolving or changing environments
