The Opportunity
As Finance Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the business. Reporting to the Group CFO and working closely with the Managing Director, you will be a true business partner, providing commercial insight, operational challenge and financial leadership to support growth, performance and value creation. This is a role for someone who is comfortable being hands-on when required, while also setting direction, raising standards and building a high-impact finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as strategic finance partner to the MD and leadership team, supporting business transformation
- Drive financial performance, challenge assumptions and ensure alignment with group strategy
- Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring robust controls, governance and compliance
- Own budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning and monthly reporting
- Deliver meaningful KPIs, commercial insights and decision support
- Take ownership of manufacturing costing, pricing, margins and inventory
- Manage working capital, cash, capital investment returns and efficiency initiatives
- Oversee local statutory, tax and audit requirements
- Support change initiatives, including systems and process improvements
About You
- Fully qualified accountant with significant senior finance experience
- Strong background in manufacturing and distribution, ideally multi-site
- Commercially astute, resilient and confident challenging at SLT level
- Comfortable operating in a PE-backed or fast-paced environment
- Hands-on leader who enjoys being close to the operation and visible on the shop floor
- Skilled at translating finance for non-finance stakeholders
- Curious, pragmatic and effective even where data or systems are evolving
