Target Profile: Private Equity Backed CFO / Experience in Buy-and-Build Strategy

Industry Focus: Renewable Energy Infrastructure, Private Wire Solar & BESS

Package: £200k to £250k + Equity + Executive Benefits Package

Strategic Overview

We are a high-growth, early-stage infrastructure scaling platform specializing in integrated Private Wire Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). As we transition into an Independent Power Producer (IPP) and aggressively expand our grid-connected generation pipeline across the UK and Europe, we are preparing to secure a major institutional Private Equity (PE) investment round. To lead this next chapter of accelerated capitalization and scale, we are appointing a forward-thinking Chief Financial Officer. This incoming leader will act as my direct strategic partner, shaping our financial architecture, spearheading the institutional fundraising process, and executing a rigorous, fast-paced buy-and-build strategy to capture market share.

Core Responsibilities

  • Private Equity & Capital Raising: Directly partner with the CEO to architect, pitch, and execute the upcoming growth capital raises. Manage ongoing relationships with equity sponsors, infrastructure funds, and debt providers to fund our greenfield project pipelines.
  • Buy-and-Build Execution: Lead the financial screening, structural execution, commercial negotiation, and post-acquisition integration of target energy assets, developer platforms, and strategic portfolios.
  • Financial Modeling & Portfolio Analytics: Maintain end-to-end ownership of the platform's master financial model. Deliver high-fidelity scenario analysis, sensitivity modeling, and asset-level valuation metrics to institutional investors.
  • CAPEX & DEVEX Governance: Instill rigorous financial discipline across all Development Expenditure (DEVEX) and Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) programs, ensuring total compliance with project economics and grid connection milestones.

Candidate Profile

  • Private Equity Track Record: Proven experience operating successfully as a CFO or senior finance director within a PE-backed corporate structure, with a distinct playbook for delivering a buy-and-build growth strategy.
  • Energy Infrastructure Expertise: Deep knowledge of renewable energy infrastructure, project finance, capital stack optimization, and navigating grid integration frameworks.
  • Strategic Dealmaking: Demonstrated history of guiding businesses through institutional capital raises, corporate debt structures, and successful M&A transactions.

Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional accounting/finance qualification with elite corporate treasury oversight capabilities.
