Exciting opportunity for an experienced and proven Head of Finance to join this fast paced, dynamic, multi-site operation! The Head of Finance plays an imperative role as a key member of the Leadership team. Reporting into the Director of Finance, providing financial, commercial, and operational support to the Managing Director and their Leadership Teams. You will be a commercially minded Finance Leader who will be responsible for driving business performance in a dynamic, multi-site operation with an exciting plan for strong profitable sales growth over the next 3-5 years. This role will play a critical part in protecting and improving the gross margin of the business by identifying a range of solutions and actions to achieve this. Identifying, tracking and delivering synergy benefits from new acquisitions will be key for maximising future profitability. You will be responsible for leading a fantastic team who are looking for a leader to support their own individual growth and development.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Advising the Managing Director and Leadership Teams on all matters relating to past, current and future financial performance within the business.
  • Implementing robust financial processes and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the business unit.
  • Providing direction on the financial and operational strategy of the business.
  • Leading the budgeting, forecasting, and planning process.
  • Oversight of all financial and accounting matters including month end reports, management accounts, presentation of management information and KPIs.
  • Identifying process simplification initiatives and taking ownership for delivering change, and sharing best practice across the wider finance team.
  • Building excellent relationships with wider finance teams and support functions.
  • Directing and coaching finance staff to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and instilling a culture of continuous improvement, both in terms of personal development and process/system improvement, in line with Commercial Finance Team Values.

What we are looking for:

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) with a minimum 5 years post qualification experience.
  • Multi-site experience is essential.
  • Experience at a senior level with strong commercial acumen and business awareness.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience of contributing to an Operational Leadership Team.
  • Strong communicator with outstanding written and verbal skills, with abundant examples of effectively influencing the business.
  • Proven track record in providing high quality, right first-time financial information and analysis.
  • Able to influence and constructively challenge senior stakeholders.
  • Experience of deriving value from new acquisitions into BAU operations.
  • High degree of integrity with a clear focus upon delivering work to the highest possible professional standards with a high-level of attention to detail and a clear focus upon accuracy.
  • Experience of coaching and developing direct reports and improving day-to-day output.
