ALEXANDER DANIELS are currently recruiting for a Group Financial Controller on behalf of a well-established retail business based in Leicestershire. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will take ownership of financial governance, reporting, and strategic planning for a growing UK business.

About the Role

As Group Financial Controller, you will:

  • Lead and develop a finance team of 4, ensuring strong performance and professional growth.
  • Own and enhance all aspects of financial reporting, including statutory accounts, tax filings, and consolidated management accounts.
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Oversee compliance with IFRS, payroll reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage external audits and maintain a robust internal controls framework.
  • Partner with senior leadership to provide strategic insights and support decision-making.
  • Champion continuous improvement and best practice across finance operations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Strong technical accounting and analytical skills, including advanced Excel and finance systems expertise.
  • Proven leadership experience managing finance teams in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous role and deliver against multiple priorities.
