Working pattern: Full time, on site 5 days per week
Financial Accountant required for a large service-based business who are a global leader in their industry. This position is on a 9 month basis (likely to be extended to 12 months), based in Solihull (fully on‑site), and will see you joining a busy team of 10+ finance staff to take ownership of financial reporting, VAT and corporate tax matters.
As the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for a wide range of activities to support the monthly and quarterly reporting cycles. Your tasks will include:
- Preparation of monthly financial statements, in line with IFRS
- Maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger and subsidiary accounts
- Cash flow management, ensuring its efficiency and efficacy
- Reviewing monthly payroll submissions to the external bureau
- Variance analysis against budget, forecast and previous year
- Assisting with the annual audit and supporting audit queries
- Supporting the monthly management reporting timetable requirements
- Assisting the Finance Manager and Finance Director with statutory accounts
- Continuous improvement to implement financial controls and governance
- Preparation of VAT and corporation tax returns, ensuring payments are made on time
- Project assistance for the wider finance team, as required on an ad hoc basis
The ideal candidate for this role will be a qualified accountant (ICAEW, ICAS, ACCA or CIMA) who has experience working in 'hands‑on' environments within financial reporting, tax and/or internal controls.
You’ll need to be available to commence work by mid-July, with the contract initially running until April 2027.
